Yoga for Kids

New for 2010!

As yoga's popularity grows, more and more avenues of this ancient practice are being explored. Yoga for Kids, taught by Beth Dillin, MOT, OTR/L, encourages kids to explore the unfamiliar with open minds, be comfortable in their bodies and enjoy social connectedness.

The benefits of yoga therapy are numerous. While all children can benefit from yoga, it can be a particularly beneficial tool for children with:


  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Aspergers Syndrome
  • Autism
  • Learning Differences
  • Asthma
  • Eating Disorders
  • Developmental Delays

Yoga for Kids focuses on the development of Motor Planning/Praxis, Imitation of Movement, Hemispheric Integration, and Muscle Strength and Coordination. Using her OT background, Ms. Dillin incorporates Brain Gym® Strategies into her movements while providing a fun, relaxing and noncompetitive atmosphere.

Yoga for Kids is an 8 week program that meets weekly for 1 hour. At the end of the 8 week session, participants will receive their own yoga book to take home.

Children should wear comfortable clothing that allows for optimal movement and should bring their own mat and water bottle.
